Opt-Out

If you do not want the Student Health Insurance Plan, you must decline or opt-out of coverage by submitting a waiver. You may only opt-out of coverage during the following Waiver Periods:

Domestic and International Students Waiver Criteria: 

1. Must be active throughout the academic year.
2. Must be MEC (Minimal Essential Coverage) compliant or MEC "comparable" for international plans.
3. Must be one of the following
   1. US employer plan
   2. Marketplace plan 
   3. Medicaid or Medi-Cal
   4. Medicare
